The South Dallas Community Clothing & Resource Center opened in 2005 to meet the growing demand from local low-income families for clothing, hygiene products, household items, appliances and furniture. In this locale, the majority of families face periods of unemployment and other hardships, struggling on a daily basis. The median income for the families we serve is less than $13,000 a year.

The center’s main objective is to provide basic necessities for families who could not otherwise afford them.

To receive assistance, each family must meet certain qualifications. Clients must provide proof of income and residence as well as a Social Security card and birth certificate for each family member. They must also meet the current Texas Commodity Assistance Program (TEXCAP) income requirements.
